Automation: How Much Is Too Much?

Let’s talk about something that’s been on my mind—and probably yours too if you’ve been anywhere near the online business space lately. Automation.

Everyone’s talking about it.
AI this, auto-that, passive income while you sleep, chatbots that do your customer service, your emails, maybe even your therapy (yikes).

And listen—I’m not here to knock it.
I love tech. I geek out over smart systems that save time, reduce the mental load, and help my clients run their businesses without having to juggle a million tabs and sticky notes.

But here’s my question:
At what point does helpful automation turn into harmful disconnection?

Because that line can sneak up on you real fast.

When Convenience Goes Too Far

Sure, automating things like scheduling, welcome emails, and follow-up reminders makes life easier for everyone. No more back-and-forth emails. No more missed appointments. That’s a win.

But when you start replacing every touchpoint with a bot or a template, you start to lose something important—something your business needs to thrive:

The human element.

Your clients can feel it.
They know when they’re talking to a real person versus a glorified auto-reply machine.
And especially when they’re coming to you overwhelmed, confused, or in need of support—they want a person, not a program.

Automation is supposed to make things easier.
It’s not supposed to make people feel ignored, frustrated, or like they’re yelling into the void.

Keep the Heart in Your Systems

Here’s what I believe:
Automation should support connection, not replace it.

The goal is to build systems that make room for you to show up as the human you are. That free up your energy so you can spend more time connecting with your people, not less.

That’s the sweet spot.

  • Let your calendar book the call—but show up with real presence when it happens.
  • Let your emails be automated—but write them like you’re talking to a friend.
  • Let your system tag, sort, and filter—but follow up with personal care and attention.

Because only you can offer the magic that makes your brand unforgettable.
Only you can bring the compassion, humor, or insight that turns a client into a lifelong fan.

AI doesn’t build trust. You do.

Tech With Soul

So yeah—automate the things that drain you.
Simplify the chaos.
Let the robots do the repetitive stuff.

But don’t hand over your voice, your vibe, or your connection.

Want help building systems that feel good, work smart, and still keep your humanity intact?
That’s literally what I do. Let’s chat. I’ll help you build tech that supports your brilliance—not bury it.
